How to Pass the Police Exam

Police Oral Board Interview

This article is going to attempt to provide the answers to passing the police exam. There are a lot of people that struggle with passing this exam and ironically, it’s not as hard as it seems.

First, it’s important to consider the role of the police officer. Basically, a police officer must be good with the “books” meaning they should be able to record how events took place by writing this information down in a coherent and understandable way. Also, cops must be good with communication when it comes to the public, the victim or the perpetrator.

When it comes time to take your written exam, treat it as if you spell even one word wrong, you’ll fail! I’m serious, take it that…serious! How bad do you want it? One thing I always say to friends and family is “proof is in the pudding”. Don’t get me wrong, some folks are simply NOT good at taking tests.

Whether that be some psychological impediment stopping them from passing an exam (due to innate fear or something) or they simply cannot perform. But, if you’re prepared (the best way to pass ANY exam) then it shouldn’t be a big deal. Simply have the attitude of trying to score 100% on everything!

The main message of this article is to be prepared. Whether that be for the police exam or any exam you want or need to take. Never assume you’ll know it all and expect to have to pass 100% in order to become a police officer. That way, you’ll be more than prepared and that can only help you in your journey to becoming a law enforcement officer.
